Spiritual Poems
Spiritual poems give us instruction.
Whirlwind
A man may say, “What goes around Will come around again.”
But when he sows He always reaps The whirlwind, not the wind.
Robert Ogden
The Bible says in Galatians 6:7, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The worldly version of this is, “What goes around, comes around.”
The principle is the same; you can’t sow selfishness and expect to reap kindness. You can’t make friends without sowing friendship, being friendly to others. Sowing (giving, exhibiting) determines what we reap from others.
We are born self-centered creatures, and this is natural. But as we grow, we need to realize that the things we desire in life are best attained when we treat others the way we want to be treated regardless of how they respond to us.
Our reaping depends only on our sowing and not on the actions of others.
