Mother Day Poems

Mother day poems shine a special light on a special lady.

Payless

You worked to make
Us turn out right
And did so without pay.

Today we give
Our heartfelt thanks
And dedicate this day.

Robert Ogden

Stay at home mothers are the supreme example of love, along with the dads who work to provide their children with a stay at home mom.

Gone are the days when most mothers stay home with their kids to help rear them and nurture them. Educating their children may or may not be included in their duties. Either way a mother’s work is never done.

My mom worked really hard to keep the house clean, fix the food, clean our clothes…you name it, she did it. She even canned fruits and vegetables. I remember her melting paraffin to pour over the preserves and seal them in Mason jars.

Another memory that illustrates mom’s work ethic was her ability to take baked potatoes out of the oven with her bare hands. The only way to develop this ability is handling hot items over an extensive period of time.
