Graduation Poem

A graduation poem shines the spotlight on a special time in a special person’s life.

Persevere

All those years
Of tests and work
Can now be left behind.

Now persevere
To do your best
And you your path will find.

Robert Ogden

Whether graduating from high school, college, military, or night school, a graduate’s training is preparing him with the skills he will need to handle a specific line of work.

It may be years, yet, before they actually begin to work, and their perseverance will be tested again and again in the mean time. Was it Thomas Edison that said, “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration”? The older I get the more I see the truth in that statement. It isn’t so much how smart we are that counts. Rather it’s how faithfully we stay at a task that is important. And graduation is a testament to the “stick-to-it-iveness” of the graduate.
