Funny Poems

Funny poems can be a spoof on an old saying.

Restaurant

The soup du jour,
A salad too,
And golden breadstick crust,

An icy drink,
An entrée huge,
I shouldn’t…but I must!

Robert Ogden

This is a simple poem reflecting the old adage, “Your eyes are bigger than your stomach.”

Have you ever seen a buffet or table spread that offered a huge assortment of items, many of which were too tempting to pass up on? You know you should eat in moderation, but you are torn either because you want to get your money’s worth out of the buffet, or you know it will be quite some time before a particular dish on the table is served again, so you better take advantage of the chance to “pig out” now while you can.

Ummmm…it tastes so good while we are eating. Arrrrgh…it pains us so much when we are stuffed. This is human nature at its finest…doing what we feel like instead of what is right.

As we grow older and as we get more diet conscious, we develop better control. We have learned the hard way; we don’t want to re-experience the pain…at least until the next meal.
