Broken Heart Poems

Broken heart poems can be about romance, but they can also be about other relationships.

Abortion

I wonder how
At four years old
He’d speak and look and love

I’ll always wish
I had not sent
Him to his home above.

Robert Ogden

People who have abortions do so frequently to avoid the “consequences” of their actions. With little regard for their future, not only for the child but for their own mental welfare, they have sex outside of marriage. And the results are devastating.

Firstly, of course, a life is lost…one that never had an opportunity to live. I’m glad that my folks gave me a chance to live, serve, grow, and enjoy life.

Secondly, the lingering guilt from forfeiting that life is profound…yet usually not anticipated. Mothers, especially, are haunted by the thoughts of “What if?”

“What if my child had lived? What would he be like? How would he look?” And the list goes on and on. Yet, young gals frequently fail to consider this inevitable guilt trip that will last them a lifetime.
