Birthday Poem
A birthday poem can be flattering to older people if they age well. 
Some people age better than others; this is true. This poem is designed to flatter such an individual. Or, I suppose, it could be given to someone you wish to impress regardless. Such a person may be up in years and looking well for their years. Others may just be young and attractive. 
While outward looks is not as important as inner beauty of character (which one will keep your mate from leaving you?), it is important in the initial stages of a relationship and for the lasting visual enjoyment of a partner’s features.
